What kind of router do I need?

You will need a dual-band, Gbps-capable router with an Ethernet WAN port. 

Wifi is constantly evolving and the current standard router uses Wifi 6. Wifi 7 is available but on the more expensive end. Any router will work with Sail Internet services as long as it is not also a modem. 

Sail Internet can set up your WiFi router at the time of your service installation. While we recommend Eero 6+ WiFi, you can use virtually any router with an Ethernet WAN port. 

If you have a large home, you can have 2-3 routers that create a mesh system. You can buy a Eero 6 Series 3-pack on Amazon which is a better deal if you want three units.
